Position Summary: The Lot Attendant is at the forefront of customer service for the cardlock fuel island. Responsible for positive interactions with customers to ensure repeat business in the future for any gas station/convenience store. Responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere with a friendly smile and warm greeting so that customers leave the premises with a positive impression of the station. Team Members should treat customers with respect and make it clear that their business is appreciated. Will also be responsible for completing and monitoring transactions at the cardlock fuel island, propane sales, and general maintenance of the station. Responsible to consistently role model our Core Values.
Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:
Charges customers for cash and debit/credit card purchases using our POS system.
Initiates (turn on) fuel pump upon payment from a customer and ensure accurate transactions.
Check ins vendors.
Keeps property clear of garbage and mess (exterior, gas pumps, etc.).
Answers questions and provide directions if needed.
Exchanges or sells full propane tanks.
Reports coned-off or bagged pumps to manager.
Operates car washes (if applicable).
Prepares daily reports of fuel and oil.
Cleans gas station bathrooms.
Puts away freight.
Changes ceiling filters.
Keeps compressors on refrigeration unit clean.
Cleans and maintains pumps including replacing hoses, nozzles, and filters.
Sweeps lot and empties trash.
Stocks cooler.
Help cashiers as needed.
Calls police to report suspicious activity in and around gas station.
Other duties as assigned.
Job requirements
Qualifications
Good customer service skills
Basic math skills: The cashier must have a fair knowledge of basic calculations
Excellent communication skills: This position involves interaction with the public and as such requires the ability to communicate orally and in writing
Self-motivated with the ability to follow directions
Ability to get tasks done with little or no supervision
Ability to operate a cash register and work with numbers
Highly energetic; as the job would occasionally require lifting of objects of average weight
Ability to pay attention to details
Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skill
Able to assess competing demands and determine appropriate direction
Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environment; agile, flexible and resilient
Minimum Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience:
