We are seeking a motivated IT Intern to join our dynamic team in the IT department at Wilcox + Flegel. This internship offers hands-on experience in various IT projects such as troubleshooting technical errors and assisting with configurations for IP-based phone systems, new user set-ups, and office relocations. This is a temporary position, approximately 3 months duration.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to support our Information Technology team for the summer. This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, providing technical support to end-users and assisting with various IT infrastructure and system-related tasks. You will gain real-world IT experience in a collaborative, supportive environment and exposure to enterprise-level systems and infrastructure. Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level support for users experiencing technical issues (hardware, software, or network related).

  • Set up computer systems for new hires and replacement users, including imaging and account configuration.

  • Perform remote troubleshooting and offer application support across multiple platforms.

  • Assist with configuration and support of IP-based phone systems, including new user setups and office relocations.

  • Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of multifunction and desktop printers.

  • Help users with basic networking issues, including connectivity and access problems.

  • Document support tasks and resolutions within the help desk system.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience with Active Directory or Office 365 user management.

  • Exposure to remote support tools or helpdesk ticketing systems.

  • Familiarity with VoIP systems and basic networking equipment (switches, routers, etc.).

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:

 

Equipment and Software Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, networking principles, and Microsoft Office applications.
