Position Summary:

As a Fuel Tank Wagon Driver, you will be required to load, transport, and unload petroleum products to various customer sites while adhering to all regulations. You will operate a tank truck according to Wilcox + Flegel Company policies and state/federal laws. Responsible to role model our Core Values.

Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Safely transports product over required route to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.

  • Load and unload various petroleum products, adhering to all regulations and procedures, while maintaining utmost safety standards.

  • Accurately completes and transmits all paperwork in compliance with established Wilcox and Flegel Company procedures.

  • Maintains vehicle cleanliness and replaces gaskets, nozzles, and other related articles as necessary.

  • Performs safety inspections on trucks, equipment and/or facilities as required by Wilcox and Flegel Company policy.

  • Reports any equipment malfunctions and/or concerns.

  • Offload product to various customer sites which may include; industrial, residential, commercial, and agricultural locations.

Job requirements

Critical Core Competencies and Skills:

  • Knowledge of and the ability to use loading arms and card readers at rack facilities, use auxiliary pumps for loading and unloading of vehicle and use spill kits and fire extinguisher

  • Must be able to drive at night with limited visibility

  • Must be able to climb in and out of Fuel Tank Wagon, operate gear shift, and brake & gas pedals

  • Must be able to climb on various pieces of equipment to reach fuel tank access

  • Local driving

  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skill

  • Must be highly organized with strong ability to multi-task

  • Able to assess competing demands and determine appropriate direction

  • Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environment; agile, flexible and resilient

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must have Class B CDL

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Prefer Two years experience hauling hazardous materials.

  • Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements and TWIC preferred

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations (note if Required or Preferred):

  • Must have Class B CDL
