Wilcox + Flegel is looking to add a dedicated and safety-focused Fuel Tank Wagon Driver to our industry-leading team of professional drivers. 12-hour shifts. Day crew and Night crew available.

What you’ll do as a Fuel Tank Wagon Driver...

As a Fuel Tank Wagon Driver for Wilcox + Flegel, you will make deliveries of bulk fuel products to customer locations. You will be the face of our organization to many of our valued customers and a critical piece of our mission of “Creating Lasting Partnerships with our Customers and Communities.

Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Transports load over required route to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations

  • Chocks rear wheels of truck and trailer before any unloading takes place

  • Removes chocks before driving away from delivery

  • Completes and transmits all paperwork in compliance with established Wilcox and Flegel Company procedures

  • Maintains vehicle cleanliness and replaces gaskets, nozzles and other related articles as necessary

  • Performs safety inspections on trucks, equipment and/or facilities as required by Wilcox and Flegel Company policy

  • Maintains miscellaneous service duties such as checking, on a daily basis, oil, water, fuel, tires and tank related items

  • Reports any equipment malfunctions and/or concerns to Dispatcher

Job requirements

Critical Core Competencies and Skills:

  • Knowledge of and the ability to use loading arms and card readers at rack facilities, use auxiliary pumps for loading and unloading of vehicle and use spill kits and fire extinguisher

  • Must be able to drive at night with limited visibility

  • Must be able to climb in and out of Fuel Tank Wagon, operate gear shift and brake & gas petals

  • Must be able to climb on various pieces of equipment to reach fuel tank access

  • Local driving

  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skill

  • Must be highly organized with strong ability to multi-task

  • Able to assess competing demands and determine appropriate direction

  • Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environment; agile, flexible and resilient

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must have Class A CDL with Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements and TWIC

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Prefer Two years experience hauling hazardous materials.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations (note if Required or Preferred):

  • Must have Class A CDL

  • Prefered: Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements and TWIC
