Position Summary:
The Driver Supervisor is responsible for the effective leadership and management of our Transport and Fuel Tank Wagon drivers, the safe and efficient transportation of our products, and providing a high level of customer service to our customers. The Driver Supervisor role will build positive relationships with drivers and across functions, while managing specific business and people metrics. Responsible to consistently role model our Core Values.
Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities
Coach, lead, and manage a team of drivers, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance development to drivers
Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, development, and engagement of drivers
Conduct interviews and support driver selection and onboarding processes
Administer and document corrective actions, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Promote a strong culture of safety, efficiency, and customer service
Champion the rollout and utilization of EOS within area of responsibility
Collaborate with the Transportation Manager to establish and achieve departmental goals
Ensure compliance with corporate policies and all local, state, and federal regulations, including FMCSA and PHMSA requirements
Maintain high safety standards through regular safety meetings, training, and staying current on transportation regulations
Partner with leadership and Human Resources on workforce planning, scheduling, and staffing levels
Manage driver schedules and collaborate with dispatch to optimize operations and supply chain efficiency
Meet or exceed established metrics, goals, and performance standards
Partner with Fleet Operations and Compliance Manager to support vehicle maintenance and maximize fleet reliability
Work cross-functionally with customer service, sales, and other departments to enhance customer satisfaction and resolve escalated issues
Build strong relationships across departments and act as an ambassador for change management initiatives
Manage and resolve crisis situations effectively and in a timely manner
Maintain accurate training records and ensure all compliance requirements are up to date
Administer systems including Paycom (timekeeping and leave), Samsara ELD (HOS compliance), and monitor FMCSA Portal
Ensure driver qualifications, credentials, certifications, and training compliance (including Test Team Trainer)
Utilize Samsara data and reporting tools to monitor and coach driver safety and performance, including driving behaviors such as speed, braking, and compliance
Maintain PPE inventory and safety supplies for the department
Provide route coverage and operate company vehicles on an as-needed basis

This position has been designated as a Safety Sensitive Position. This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing, as well as random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, follow-up, and any other company or federally required drug and alcohol testing. The results of this testing will be a condition of employment.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Associate degree in management or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 years of experience in a leadership and/or management role
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
2 years of experience in a leadership and/or management role
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations (note if Required or Preferred):
Class A CDL w/ Hazmat and Tank Endorsement Required
Must meet or exceed and maintain acceptable company MVR criteria.
